…we'll be right back.
We found this in Mom's pantry. The fake wood packaging made us think it was a bit past it's date, which was confirmed when we looked on the bottom. (Jan 1981).

From the book Jay Boy (Classic Photographs By Jay Adams' Stepfather). Who has that much style at that age?

A weekend walk in the woods reminded us of the painter Olav Christopher Jenssen.

David Hockney with a swimming pool he painted. So amazing.

For some reason we thought these were chocolate dice, so it was a surprise to open them and find that they were actually caramel dice. Yum!

Reston, Virginia was founded in 1964 by Robert E. Simon. A unique planned community, it was idealized as a place where residents of all income levels would live, work and relax without a commute to the city. The design of it's earliest developments was influenced by Tapiola, Finland.
It was also a great place to grow up.

Last night we watched Woody Allen's 1973 film, Sleeper. As funny as it is, it also looks amazing. The architecture reminded us of where we grew up, and we even spotted some of Bradbury Thompson's Alphabet 26.

Mary helped create some boutonnieres for Mister Mort. They are available exclusively at Jack Spade. Thanks Katie : )

See you on the flipside.
(Ed Ruscha, The End, 1991)

Mary has a few illustrations in the 2008 Kate Spade agenda. Other illustrations were done by Abby and Paulina. The year just began, so pick one up before you forget your mom's birthday.

And if Matt was to, it would probably look like this:

Being fans of all things generic, we were psyched to find this generic comic book. Featuring…"A Superhero!"

On a recent trip to the flea market we found these grocery store tags.

We paid a visit to the store Kiosk last week, and found this giant calculator. The woman there said she had done her taxes with it -- so cool!

This week we participated in an event for Publicolor. It's a great charity, and we helped design and paint a banner for this year's fundraising dinner.
It was a lot of fun. A special thanks for the inspiration and help goes to Table 15.

One of the most important words in the English language.

The back cover says: "Don't just sit there, doodle something!" We couldn't agree more. Thanks for the book Dana!

While spending a great week in Nantucket, we happened on a toy store that carried a large selection of handmade wooden toys. We were excited, as nowadays it's hard to find such toys. In particular, this wooden whale caught our eye. The clincher was it's hidden compartment.

By Bruce Davidson.

Maestro is a documentary about Larry Levan and The Paradise Garage. It features some great footage from the club and of Larry in action. Being huge fans of the music from this scene, we were really excited to see this.
